Slovene (Slovenian) is on the western branch of the South Slavic languages. It has around 2.5 speakers (mainly in Slovenia), and is one of three official languages, the other two (minority) anguages being Italian and Hungarian.
One point of gramatical interest is that it has preserved dual grammatical number (a precise form used to refer to groups numbering two), as found in proto-slavic.
