Faroese is a North Germanic language spoken as by about 72,000 Faroe Islanders. The Faroe Islands are a group of islands about halfway between Iceland and Norway.
Faroese along with Norwegian and Icelandic are descended from Old West Norse.
The Faroese numbers from one to three have separate forms for masculine, feminine and neuter genders. The number ten has a neuter form.
